I was born and raised as a catholic, however with recent light upon allegations of sex abuse towards children I have lost all remaining respect I had left for them. I recently heard of a bishop in Dublin announcing on RTE radio that he would like to ask the people of Ireland to help them to pay the compensation costs and the legal fees of the abusers of our own children. We must act together as one and boycott the whole organisation. It is the only way that we can show how the vast majority of people with any responsibility for the safety of children feel in regards to these awful crimes. I realise that I am relatively young compared to others who have been putting up arguments in defence of the church but even so, I have my own opinions and I hope this has helped you to see clearer. One final note I will make is that this morning on the radio I heard a bishop say in defence of the church, "let he who is without sin cast the first stone". I shall allow you to think about that phrase.
