Here's a better podcast, with actual content. I decided to ignore the opinion of Anonymous, who commented on the last post, for the time being. This one addresses the difficulty many of us have listening to our own voice, bandwidth requirements of podcasts, and the cigarette delivery man.

ReplyDeleteI just listened to your podcast. It sounded OK, but of course there is room for improvement (as you noted).
ReplyDeleteOne technical point: I recommend either signing on, or off, or both, with your name and URL (and/or email address). Since your podcast may ultimately be distributed by other means, or end up in a "to hear" folder somewhere, it reminds people who you are and where the file came from.
Same with naming the file something descriptive, like "robert_synott_podcast_(date)".
These days I prefer video podcasts, and advancements like Democracy TV really lower the bar for enjoying it without being locked in to YouTube. Audio is fun too, but as with any of this sort of thing less is more. This is coming from a guy who used to do 60-minute audio shows up to 3x per month.
Oh, I don't think I could do a video one! The sheer horror of seeing my face would scare people off, no doubt ;)
